“My nurse seemed like part of the family... and when you consider her skill level, it just doesn't get any better than that.”

Medicare has been collecting data for many years on home health agencies and the outcomes of the patients they serve. This data is reported on the Medicare website (www.medicare.gov) so you can compare agencies when making your choice of who will take care of you at home. Federal law guarantees patients the right to choose which Home Health agency cares for them. It is, therefore, wise to search for an agency which has demonstrated good outcomes for their patients.
A high-quality home care agency will excel in three critical measures of success:
-
How many of their patients needed urgent, unplanned medical care?
(While obviously not all unexpected events can be avoided, excellent home care will dramatically reduce the number of such events.)
-
How many of their patients had to be rehospitalized during their home care?
(If patients are receiving the best care at home, they are much less likely to return to the hospital.)
-
How many of their patients were able to stay at home after they were discharged from the home care agency?
(One of the best measures of a top-notch home health agency is based on common sense: how many patients are able to stay at home after home health care ends? Higher percentages of those who stay at home indicate the agency is providing the best possible care).
The quality of care you will receive from BAPTIST HEALTH Home Health is demonstrated by our outcomes in these 3 crucial areas (from data reported by our Little Rock office*):

Patient Satisfaction Scores
We survey our patients after discharge and ask them to rate our services in 41 different areas. The results are tabulated by Press Ganey, an independent firm retained by BAPTIST HEALTH. Our most recent overall score for patient satisfaction was 93%. Throughout our website, you will see comments taken from actual patient surveys on the left side of the page.
Ongoing Improvement Efforts
We are constantly reviewing any areas where we can do better, and we are committed to improving patient satisfaction in all areas. One example is the "Fall Prevention Program" which helps patients lessen their risk of falling at home. This effort has been very successful in reducing the number of falls, and consequently the number of patients who must go back to the hospital.
Providing the highest quality professional care that allows you to stay at home is our mission. The data shows we are the community leaders in achieving that objective.
